Neil D'Astolfo

Bio

Neil D’Astolfo (duh-STAHL-fo) is a New York-based actor, comedian, writer and Scorpio who uses he/him pronouns (for now). Neil recently wrapped up three seasons as a series regular on Comedy Central’s Emmy-nominated Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out the News and recurred as Anthony Fauci on Showtime’s Our Cartoon President (also executive produced by Stephen Colbert). Other TV credits include Hulu’s High Fidelity and The Path. Neil is also a classically trained theatre actor whose stage credits include Classic Stage’s Company’s The Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Macbeth and Celine Song’s Family (Pershing Square Signature Center Studio).

Neil’s critically-acclaimed solo show, Mister Miss America, had its world premiere off-Broadway at Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre in Summer 2022, and Neil loves to tell any- and everyone — especially strangers — that The New Yorker called his performance “dazzling,” and The New York Times said, “He can land a punchline with his eyes alone.”

Neil was a house performer at The Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) from 2018-2020, where he performed on Maude Night’s first exclusively queer and/or female-identified sketch teams (Glamour College and Peach). He is also the creator and host of POOP SHOW, a comedic story-telling about — you guessed it — poop.

As a filmmaker, Neil wrote, directed and stars in the short films NORA and NORA’S MOTHER, the latter of which is a current recipient of a Film Independent Fiscal Sponsorship and is in festival submissions.

Neil’s original comedy pilot, TRIBE, was named a Semi-Finalist at the 2019 Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting Competition and 2019 Cinequest Screenwriting Competition. It was also an official selection at the 2019 Austin Comedy Short Film Festival, where it was named one of the Top 10 Best Comedy Series in its Screenplay Competition.

Neil is currently an adjunct professor at Pace University’s School of Performing Arts. He is also a certified mindfulness meditation instructor and teaches at THE WELL and MNDFL.

July 6th - August 7th, 2022 • Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre

written & performed by neil d’astolfo

Tonight. Is. The. Night. Y'all. It's the 86th Annual Miss Southwest Virginia Pageant, and Derek Tyler Taylor is fightin' tooth and well-manicured nail to win the crown. But when the road to victory is bumpier than a sock fulla Skittles™, Derek must decide how dirty he's willing to play to make his lifelong dream come true.

SH!T SHOW

Created and hosted by Neil D'Astolfo, SH!T SHOW is a comedic storytelling game show in which comedians, celebrities and everyday folx share their most embarrassing, sh*ttiest stories. "Everyone poops," as Taro Gomi's classic children's book reminds us, which means everyone has also pooped in less-than-ideal circumstances/places/their pants while on a packed Long Island Railroad train on Thanksgiving eve. No? Just Neil?
